*the problem: I don't know what happened with the edition, but there is a lot of missing letters so it looks like bad spelling ... as I see anothers reviewers complaining about the same I guess it's not just my copy.

first idea: get better after the start.

Nathan works as escort at a club in New Camden. No sad stories, or urgent pression to be prostitute btw. Country boy, still is fascinated by the supernatural life of the city; likes the dance , the thrill of be wanted. When Hunter hired Nate for a private party as a'shared gift'(in case you're wondering it was m-m-m-m), he accepts despite his inner warnings and the feel that something is not right when he is not able to follow his second thoughts or even can't leave when realise that is a house of vampires ... That really made me struggle to keep reading the book at the start because vampiric compulsion rises here it ugly head (not pun intended), and that is NOT sexy. It's evident when the manager accepts regardless of it's against the politics of the club.

Anyway, Nate now keep thinking in Ben , the honoured, a younger vampire. There is even a joke of Aki, his best friend, about Twilight (and yeah broody tortured dead vampire and young obsessed uh escort. Totally ;P).

BUT then this story take a curve into THRILLER territory.

Peanuts is a cartoon ageless that still keep entertaining the readers. Charley Brown the boy whom keep trying against the odds. The superimaginative Snoopy and his adventures, and the way that he is able to manipulate the humans is funny and many times incomprensible to the spectator . Like the way Charlie follow through his wishes, and Peppermint Paty believes he is a lawyer. But overall how he thinks so high of himself and diverge from the tradition - like sleeping over the roof.

Reminds Alice in Wonderland set in a Ghibli style (Spirited Away).

A land in eternal winter, absurd situations, a biased trial, rabbits spies serving an emperor, underground mysterious children, an anarchic pilot, and an elusive butterfly that everybody is looking for.

Adventure for all ages. Narrated in short episodes is really a delightful reading.

Anne is the king's maid and , for some ridiculous notion she sleeps in his bed because 'she is afraid of owls at night' (??). So, logically, the queen send her away. Both insist she is not his lover. However, the king gives her instead a building to work as tavern.

Thoughts:

Not impressed with the Duke, the explanation about not able to fill his grandfather shoes as a way to justified his running away it is not good at all. Feel like poor-rich-boy to me.

Nunca pensé que me iba a gustar tanto. Me encantó el personaje de Lady Susan, completamente amoral , que completo paradigma del poder femenino como se permitia en la época. Solamente con el arma de su ingenio en el uso de las palabras y haciendo uso de su belleza y una meta bien determinada prueba su escasa libertad, siempre consciente del que diran y como se verá lo que haga, para salir bien parada viviendo holgadamente y consiguiendo lo que quiere de los hombres. Fascinante.

Mucho PSTD en este libro.

The Shadow Queen is part of the Black Jewels 'verse. Two years after the cleansing storm to get rid of the wicked witches er the bad Blood: bad queens and badder priestess, Terreille is almost in ruins. The population were wipe out for the aformenthioned and the posterior war between Blood and landens (not magical jeweled people) sick of the abuses. Now, Theran Greyhaven of Dena Nehele, the last survival Warlord Prince of his house , saved by many others as last hope, get the idea of bring back a new Queen of the Old Ways to rule and prosper again.

Meanwhile, Cassidy is a Rose Jewel Queen. Not beautiful, not very strong in Craft. (No. I mean it, is not a 'she is not pretty nor powerful but...'; she really isn't. Imagine that!!) And she is without a court b/c ... reasons. She is really insecure, and don't trust very much in herself because of that. Guess who Witch is sending.

This is a SECOND CHANCE kind of plot. And how you could use or not.

Oh, and Theran? she is total moron, and a jerk. And I really really mean it. Thank the Lady he is notthe main interest. +

Este es el último volumen recopilatorio de las aventuras de Bruno Brazil y su gente. Tiene un mayor papel un tal Coronel L. (un jefe al estilo de las novelas de James Bond). Y... es también el volumen más deprimente. Hay varias explicaciones acerca de lo sucedido tras el volumen anterior y una decisión de Greg que los lectores de Holmes conocen bien. Parece que tras un punto lo mejor es matar al personaje -en este caso no en forma literal- que seguir escribiéndolo. En su tiempo esto generó una oleada de quejas de los lectores de 7 a 77 como se ufanaba la revista TinTin en los 70s; asi que resultaria de nada el hacerlo ahora, aunque igual lamento bastante la decisión tomada con respecto a varios personajes.

*Encomio el dibujo realista de Vance, toda una variedad de personajes se pasean en las páginas o planchas: viejos, gordos, calvos, feos; paisajes y vehiculos rápidos y militares. Una acción y tematica de los setenta que ahora pueden parecer cliches, pero precisamente de ahi viene el género. Hombres machos en ambientes sórdidos y mujeres exóticas y muy curvilineas, y un dejo de sentimentalismo patriotico con ironias y pullas.

Sin embargo. busquenlo en una biblioteca, no vale la pena de no ser como coleccionista.

Nell Ingram has powers upon the land that she doesn't know very well, and now is the probie agent in PsyLED aka the 'witch-squad' who police paranormals (vampires, witches, shapeshifters and who knows what). Her unit are called because a Senator and other VIPs , like Ming of Glass , suffered an attack; other Agencies are involved too, uncertain of the target. With the precedence in doubt, the agents are pressured for answers and results , meanwhile Nell is struggling to work with the team , with family issues and maybe men-issues. But above all trying to knowing better herself.

This is one of my favorites Urban Fantasy series. well interelated with Jane Yellowrock's worldbuilding.

I'm afraid to start parroting Choko's review, because I agree with her about the kind of heroine that Nell is.

But maybe not for to start gushing about Occam, and how I so love to see him kick Rick ass. (and took photos and send them to Jane and George XD)
