A transition filler issue. Starting with a wtf Tuya! to -surprise- a Cliffhanger of doom.

Political unions , usually are not a fun ride, and this seems like it.

Following with the ongoing Kippa-is-lost and Maika and the delicious Dawn Court arcanic Corvin, the journeying came to ... more enemies and unknows..

And our lil' Kippa is all Arthur-ish now? what with the armor and sword?

Los nuevos aigos del blog me perdonarán mis frikadas, especialmente porque soy fan de Marjorie M. Liu y Sana Takeda con su arte se ha ganado mi fangirlismo. Monstress es una historia de fantasía oscura épica, llena de mucha sangre y entraña, donde Maika Halfwolf inicia una jornada y con ella vamos obteniendo respuestas acerca del monstruo que lleva dentro. Muy en plan entre Lovecraf y de dimensiones distintas a la oriental. Van 2 volumes y este es el tercero con comics individuales y que despues conformaran el tercer volumen. Recomiendo mucho el arte, que es espectacular.

Strangely, this issue bring me back the idea of that this 'verse is the aftermath of unspeakable wars of epic proportions. The factions are more than ever hanging with claws and nails -and tentacles- and fighting for the final coup.

The Dusk Court are reluctantly talking of alliances. even by marriage.

The sighting of the refugee camp open to Kippa the election of pursuing other goal after her own tender heart.

Living for millenia is not easy, poor not so little mass murderer monsters...

There are some insight in the times of Old, and more details about the War , not this nor the preceding but an ancient one, you see. Oh, the island. In fandom we learn that are always reasons for not remember.

Surviving of the most powerful, shoot, that's not really new.

/SPOILER-->La revelación de que la isla de huesos es un dios, un Monstrum, no me resultó muy 'sorprendente' , y ya se veia venir. Que el monstrum dentro de Maiko fuera el responsable eso sí fue nuevo. Es extraño que éste se sienta contaminado y horrorizado por el recuerdo de su fraternicidio.

This was full of drama and action. And horrendous revelations. /SPOILER--->still wondering of the level of ambition of momy dearest. And why never I think in Maika's dad?, and the blue eyes of her?

To the Isle of Bones in search of... answers ... a cure ... something , goes Maiko Halfwolf, Kippa and Master Ren. Despite the pirate company, and the deadly sirens, this is no neverland but rather imagine some obscure Verne's fantasy with some Inu imagery.

After all, do not tell me that using a ferryman to a place like these is not ominous.

Nope. Not at all.

Specially when everybody tells you tales of doom and gloom of the place. Nice of you of bringing back a necromancer, and a clever little cute fox.

But maybe that will be not enough.
