 Ripley es una bailarin de ballet contemporánea de 26 años que está pasando por su momento de éxito, su trabajo lo es todo para él, aunque aprecia poder pasar tiempo con su familia mientras el espectáculo pasa por su ciudad natal. Pierce es un marinero de 23 años que todavía está 'en el armario', temeroso de cómo esto cambiaría el tratamiento de sus compañeros en el submarino. Sus personalidades y carreras no pueden ser más opuestas, pero un encuentro fortuito les hace repensar sus relaciones y tal vez aprovechar para hacer otros cambios en sus vidas.

   “You willingly lock yourself in a tin can that sinks for months ... that’s ...” Ripley shook his head. That was like extreme navying. “Why would you do that to yourself?”

     “I like it.”
     “No, really?”
     “I really like it. The extra money, the being based in one place, plus submarines are  cool.”
     Ripley shook his head again. “You look human, but you’re really an alien.”
“I look at you and think the same thing.”

Una lectura para el rato, no fue lo que esperaba. Carece de profundidad real, a pesar de todas las conversaciones sobre lo que está pasando con las preocupaciones de Ripley. No hay un carácter secundario especial, y parece que todas las decisiones se apresuran /SPOILER--->especialmente con la charla acerca de tener hijos! ¡ambos apenas se encuentran en sus 20s! Y para Pierce esta es su primera relación y están a punto de separarse por un largo tiempo<---SPOILER/  Todo parece demasiado ... fácil.Y querido autor: incluso ahora que hay más en la escritura que 'puntos seguidos'. Como 'punto y coma' y 'guiones'. Imagina eso. Tal vez fue un experimento de escritura, no sé. Extraño los otros signos de puntuación.

Ripley is a 26-year-old contemporary ballet dancer who is going through his moment of success, his work is everything to him, although he appreciates being able to spend time with his family while the show goes through his hometown. Pierce is a 23-year-old sailor who is still 'in the closet', afraid of how this would change the treatment of his companions in the submarine. Their personalities and careers could not be more opposite, but a fortuitous encounter makes them rethink their relationships and maybe take advantage to make other changes in their lives.

He glanced at the bag on the passenger seat. Did he bring it in this time or leave it? The sensible part of him screamed to leave it, end this and go back to how things were. His life had been safe before Ripley. The rest of him wanted to grab on to this chance and not let go. He stared at the bag, the song on the radio changed twice before he got out of the car, leaving the bag on the seat and walking to the hotel.

An okay read. Lacks real deep, despite all the talks about what's going on with Ripley concerns . There is not special secundary character, and it feel like all the decitions are rushed , /SPOILER-->especially with the talk of kids! they both are in their 20s! And is Pierce first relashionship and they about to get separated a long time.<--SPOILER/All seems too... easy.

And Dear Author: even I now that there are more in writing that 'periods'. Like 'semicolons' and 'dashes'. Imagine that. Maybe it was an experiment, I don't know. I miss the other punctuation marks.

Uno de mis amigos es un bailarin increible, en otro país hubiese sido uno de esos bailarines de ballet famosos. Me fascina el ballet y por eso elegi este libro, pero no cumplió con mis expectativos y no llegue a gustarme como esperaba.

Este es mi segundo intento con Shona Husk, y no pude terminar su Goblin King, no sé si le daré otra oportunidad.
