Blurb: Jane Eliot wears an iron mask. It’s the only way to contain the fey curse that scars her cheek. The Great War is five years gone, but its scattered victims remain—the ironskin. When a carefully worded listing appears for a governess to assist with a "delicate situation"—a child born during the Great War—Jane is certain the child is fey-cursed, and that she can help.

My rating: 2.7 unwrinkle stars

Genero: Fantasia, Accion/aventura. Novela Gráfica

My rating: 3.5 sandy stars

I got this digital copy thanks to Read Now at NetGalley, but sadly the copy is not good quality -blurred and pixelated- so I think that diminesh the experience.

Well, this is not a new Sanderson book, actually is a never published old Sanderson book (before Elantris, so is in the Cosmere verse). This time, the magical system take us to a culture of Sand Masters, a divided world -darkside and lighside- , and religious fanatics. Sounds familiar?

Reseña: I am Malala

I am Malala

by

Malala Yousafzai

276 pages
Published October 8th 2013 by W & N Non Fiction (Weidenfeld & Nicolson) (first published November 1st 2012)
Original Title I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban
ISBN 0297870920 (ISBN13: 9780297870920)
Edition Language English

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

‘Why don’t they want girls to go to school?’ I asked my father.
‘They are scared of the pen,’ he replied.

Malala Yousafzai got worldwide attention when she was shot. Isn't that sad? I didn't know about her before that. Despite been insert in a well know conflict -the conflict, not the whys- , there is a lot of things we don't understand about that war. In this context, the book achieves its goal to learn at least some facts and key players. Recent history like bin Laden and Benazir Bhutto. And Afghanistan.

Written in a unadorned style, this is not a novelization of her life.

Reseña: When your child strays from God

Relato corto nominado al premio nebula 2015. Lo pueden encontrar aqui

When Your Child Strays From God

by

Sam J. Miller
