When a UFO crashes into Samantha's junkyard, she is happy to make repairs and send the little visitors on their way. But E.T. is smitten with the Marine veteran and now an industrial giant wants to buy the land to install their anti-UFO weapon. With the help of her buddy Mike, a 600lb. gorilla, Sam is always prepared to defend those who can't defend themselves, but who will save Sam from the PTSD and shrapnel that threaten her life? To survive, Sam must ultimately face the greatest battle of her life - reality.
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
In 10 issues, Moore tells the story of Sam, a veteran of Iraq working in a scrapyard with his friend Mike the gorilla, that said gorilla belongs to his imagination becomes part of the brilliance of the story. Sam is a strong and capable female character, compassionate, and with great problems at the same time. Livvy -the owner- is an old woman who does not let herself be intimidated and who wants more than anything to help Sam. Meanwhile, those little extraterrestrial green beings also seem to be in trouble, especially when an individual insists on taking Livvy's land.
There are funny moments, other serious, other touching and unreal. The story has us doubting until the end between reality and fiction in the mind of this soldier with post traumatic stress. As someone mentioned, the worst thing is that this is undoubtedly true for many.
Sometimes it's hard to let others help us no matter how much we need it.
I loved the way of drawing the story, simple and at the same time expressive.

Recomendado.
